Julia’s Story
Our body and brain are powerful instruments of healing and renewal — with the right practices, nourishment, and mindful attention, they can restore balance, strengthen resilience, and optimize function.
I’ve been teaching yoga for 8 years — over 600 hours a year, running retreats for the last 5 — and in that time my classes have changed. What started more dynamic has become slower, more restorative, more attentive to the nervous system. That shift didn’t come from a trend. It came from watching what actually helps the women who walk into my studio.
My path here started a long way from a yoga mat — with a childhood in Slovakia surrounded by my grandparents’ organic produce, learning early on how deeply lifestyle and nourishment shape health. Fifteen years working in London’s creative industry as a make up artist taught me how to really listen to people. Eight years ago I moved to Bedfordshire and trained in yoga — a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training in Costa Rica — and everything I’d learned about the body found its practice.
Over time I went deeper: Level I & II Restorative Yoga specialising in nervous system regulation, meditation and mindfulness training, and eventually a Health Coach Diploma and ongoing study in nutrition, hormones, and brain health. Three years ago that side of the work — the coaching, the deeper root-cause work with hormones and the nervous system — became substantial enough to need its own space. That’s NeuroWellness. One
The two are connected, not separate. Entering menopause myself, and watching my mother’s recent dementia diagnosis, made the link between nervous system regulation and long-term brain health impossible to ignore — for me and for the women I teach.
Yoga is where that work starts: slowing down, coming back into the body, building resilience on the mat.
For women who want to go further — 1:1 coaching, hormone and nutrition work, retreats — that’s what NeuroWellness. One is for.
